After ten weeks of our program filled with utopias and resistance from Ecuador, Berlin, and other territories around the world, today we will gather everything that has grown thus far. In this conclusion to our The Roots of Everything event series, we will celebrate new connections and thank the cloud forest of Intag for sharing its knowledge and defending its habitat with a fundraiser in its name.

From 16:00 – 18:00, we will host a World Café across five locations inside the Spore building and out in the garden. There, we will share and deepen the harvest of our five core themes from the Roots series: imagination, justice, regeneration, community building, and alternative economies. At each station, you will meet people who work with these themes in different ways and who have accompanied us throughout this series. Drop by, join the conversation, learn, paint, write, forge connections, and feel free to bring something of your own.
From 18:30 – 20:30, there will be a fiesta with music and food, as well as a few core insights and concrete utopias from the past ten weeks of Roots of Everything. Cenaida Guachagmira, a „Defensora de la vida” (Defender of Life) from the Intag cloud rainforest, will share utopian and resistant ideas to inspire us on our journey. Other guests from the series will also stop by to share their knowledge and celebrate life once more. Depending on the weather, this may take place indoors or in the garden.
Fundraiser for the Cloud Rainforest: We have learned so much from Intag. Furthermore, its inhabitants are defending one of the most biodiverse places left on our planet against capitalism, fascism, and militarization. We want to show our gratitude by providing much-needed financial support. The funds will go directly to two organizations managed by the local community in the valley: Los Cedros, which protects a large area of untouched forest, and Toisan, a coalition of groups and collectives in the valley. Throughout the series, you have already met various people from these organizations.
