JINA is inspired by the true story of Jina Amini, the brave young Kurdish woman who stood up against injustice and sparked a global movement for girls and women rights. When people around the world heard about JINA, they started shouting “Woman, Life, Freedom” demanding equal rights for women and girls everywhere. The response to Jina’s courage still echoes and poses questions to all of us: How do we find the right words to explain injustice to our children? And how do we find the tools to strengthen their voices?

With the JINA picture book, young readers, aged 6-11 are introduced to the real life story of a woman who stood up for her freedom and human rights. The book encourages children to tap into their own lives and question ideas of injustice.
