Workshop on audio-visual documentation

Colectivo Suumil Móokt'aan was supported by filmmaker and editor Martha Uc in the creation of audiovisual documentaries about the learning processes in the solar maya. Martha Uc organized the workshops based on the premise, that everyone can learn basic filming and editing techniques, using available technologies, such as cell phones and open-source software. The objective was to facilitate the direct documentation of activities and the production of audiovisual materials on the work and programs taking place within the solar, so that the applied methods and contents can be disseminated to initiatives with similar visions, through a range of channels including messenger platforms or USB-drives. One of the main aspects of this documentary work is also the documentation and preservation of the knowledge and experiences of older women from Sinanché. Interviewing techniques and script writing therefore also formed an important part of the workshops.
