The Fire Will Never Cease: Scorched Ecologies in Lebanon, Palestine and Iran.
Scorched earth, blackened skies, poisoned waters and fires everywhere.
These panels offer urgent insights into resistance on the ground amidst ceaseless wars in Lebanon, Palestine and Iran. Here, rooted communities directly confront the intentional environmental damage waged by imperial and settler-colonial war machines as ecocidal violence against the land.
The land and its dwellers experience war as a seasonal catastrophe and resist methodical annihilation and enduring occupation through defiant acts of return and repair. Speaking from the shattered grounds of the present, amidst the immediacy of ongoing wars and so-called ceasefires, the panelists will consider the multispecies ecologies that resist and survive endless seasons of scorched-earth devastation in Lebanon, Palestine and Iran.
This is event stretches across two panels, offering both theoretical and artistic perspectives from the ground.
Panel 1
Where Does the South Begin? – Artist talk with Batoul Faour and Gabriel Ferneini.
Panel 2
