Sandra Moreno Mammel, musicóloga y musicoterapeuta. Durante sus estudios de musicología se dedicó a investigar perspectivas decoloniales alrededor del desarrollo de la música y el baile. Actualmente su trabajo se centra en los efectos terapéuticos del sonido y el movimiento.

Amalia Valenzuela Perez (AMALVA): Cantautora, psicoterapeuta, miembro-fundadora del proyecto psicosocial XOCHICUICATL e.V.


Ana Kavalis: Artista interdisciplinaria de las artes escénicas, nacida en Cuba y residente en Berlin desde 2004, creadora de la práctica corporal-vocal Resonant Body.


Regis Molina Reynaldo: Multi-instrumentalista y compositor cubano, graduado de Jazz Performance en el Jazz Institute Berlin e iniciador de los proyectos BataSax y Rumbeko Free, con los cuales ha creado nuevos puentes entre la música tradicional de los tambores batá y las sonoridades del saxofón y el Jazz.

Can music and dance win battles, relieve pain and heal wounds?

 

In this conversation, we approach the world of musicality and corporeality from a decolonial and therapeutic perspective.  

 

After a brief analysis of the emergence of Latin American music and dance, we will open the space to new manifestations in the Berlin context.

 

Moderator:


Sandra Moreno Mammel, musicologist and music therapist. During her studies in musicology, she researched decolonial perspectives on the development of music and dance. Currently her work focuses on the therapeutic effects of sound and movement.

Ana Kavalis: Interdisciplinary performing arts artist, born in Cuba and living in Berlin since 2004, creator of the body-vocal practice Resonant Body.


Regis Molina Reynaldo: Cuban multi-instrumentalist and composer, graduate of Jazz Performance at the Jazz Institute Berlin and initiator of the projects BataSax and Rumbeko Free, with which he has created new bridges between the traditional music of the Bata drums and the sonorities of the saxophone and Jazz.
