Racism has been a topic of discussion in Germany for several years now. People often disagree about who's to blame, who's affected by it, and how long this has been going on for. Recent research shows that, rather than ending with Nazi Germany, racism continued to exist, adapting repeatedly to new circumstances and becoming an integral part of Germany's democratic and pluralistic society.
Prof. Stefanie Schüler-Springorum (Historian and Director of the Center für Research on Antisemitism, TU Berlin), Dr. Maria Alexopoulou (Historian, PI at the Center für Research on Antisemitism, TU Berlin; lecturer at the University of Mannheim), and Dr. Mohammad A. S. Sarhangi (Historian, Researcher at the Center für Research on Antisemitism, TU Berlin) will be in conversation with taz journalist Daniel Bax. They will provide a platform for the voices of those who have endured racism since 1945. This event will explore various aspects of these experiences to highlight and analyze underlying racist structures.
