We all have different experiences with the healthcare system, which are shaped by our respective circumstances, our material resources, and our position in a racist world––they are also determined by our gender and sexual orientation, our status of residence, or our physical and mental condition. Most of these are personal and often unpleasant experiences. And it is not easy to share these experiences collectively. The system is at least as sick as we are!
Stories from the waiting room therefore invites people from the neighborhood, doctors and medical staff, patients, carers, adults and children to a family-friendly afternoon of shared stories and exchange of experiences, with different storytelling formats and plenty of room for healthy anger about a sick healthcare system:
It will include cooking and eating together, a children's program, your best personal wellness recipes, a consultation hour with practicing doctors* of the health collective in which it is finally about your view on doctor's visits ... and much more.
Stories from the Waiting Room is a project by Gesundheitskollektiv Berlin and Polyrama - Museum für Lebensgeschichten, funded by the Allzeitorte funding program of the Bundesverband Soziokultur e.V.
