Multiple communities join forces to honor the history and political significance of Newroz for this year’s celebration. The event will include a panel discussion featuring Afghan and Baloch activists addressing the oppression and struggles of their people, as well as a conversation about the Kurdish experience, including the ban on Newroz in parts of Kurdistan and Afghanistan. 

 

The program will feature:

Kids Program: Traditional afghan and kurdish Children games, Book readings, Dance Workshops and a workshop with Blue Boat about the book JINA A Girl Whose Name Means Life (Written by Zilan Koessler and illustrated by Clara Gilod)
