The fire of Newroz is the fire of freedom. A tradition that has resisted all attempts to extinguish it. This year we reflect on the meaning of Newroz: resistance, solidarity, and ecological justice.
Multiple communities join forces to honor the history and political significance of Newroz for this year’s celebration. The event will include a panel discussion featuring Afghan and Baloch activists addressing the oppression and struggles of their people, as well as a conversation about the Kurdish experience, including the ban on Newroz in parts of Kurdistan and Afghanistan.
