Amid the ongoing destruction in Gaza, Hassala stands as both a cultural and humanitarian intervention. Initiated by Artists Together, the project supports the survival — both physical and creative — of over 300 Palestinian artists in Gaza. As war devastates lives, homes, and archives, Hassala works to ensure that these artists, Gaza’s cultural memory-keepers, can survive, create, and bear witness.
This day-long event at Spore introduces Hassala and invites participants to engage with its mission through dialogue, creativity, and film.
From 12:00 to 14:00, parallel workshops offer a creative session for young artists and children (led by Salman & Shareef).
From 14:00 to 15:30, the Talk & Q&A: Introduction to Hassala presents the project’s origins, aims, and ways to support Gaza’s artists through collaboration and solidarity.
From 16:00 to 18:00, a selection of short films celebrates artistic resilience and cultural endurance in times of crisis.
Finally from 18:00 to 20:00, we offer a cacao ceremony and sound healing for adults (with Nadia), focusing on collective healing and connection.
The event seeks to remind us that while humanitarian aid sustains life, cultural work sustains memory. Supporting Hassala means protecting the voices, stories, and creative futures of Gaza’s artists, ensuring their narratives continue to shape our shared cultural conscience.
