The Apple Tree is a children's play that describes the journey of an apple seed as it grows into a tree. It illustrates the process of a seed growing into a tree.
First, a seed found in an apple is planted in the ground. Then, it begins to grow. In order to become a strong and healthy tree, it needs water and sunlight. Each page of the pop-up book illustrates a different stage in the apple tree's growth: from cotyledons and first leaves to a fully grown tree.
The story of the tree's growth from germination to maturity is accompanied by the changing seasons. As they follow the tree's journey, children learn about the changing seasons and experience the many sensory elements surrounding the tree. This enables them to experience the magic of nature for themselves. This large-format pop-up book combines storytelling, object manipulation and physical theatre to bring the apple tree to life.
This play & workshop will be held in German by Cátia Almeida Santos and is part of the 'Picture Book Journey' project for schools and other educational institutions.
Closed event with a school class.
