This workshop series explores how storytelling, music, and movement can open spaces for collective joy and creative resistance in the face of rising authoritarian and exclusionary politics. Through listening exercises, vocal experimentation, collaborative composition, and embodied practices, participants engage the concept of radical imagination as a way to create counternarratives and envision solidarity-based futures.
Inspired by activist and artistic practices from South America and the Global South (global majority), the workshops examine how marginalized communities have historically used sound and movement to transmit knowledge, preserve memory, and respond to structural violence. Participants will experiment with soundscapes, spoken word, rhythm, and performance, developing collective sonic expressions connected to ecosocial struggles.
The sessions combine reflection and practice. Each meeting includes shared listening, discussion, and hands-on collaborative creation. No prior artistic experience is required. The workshop is open to anyone interested in community practices, activism, artistic experimentation, and alternative futures.
