Xook K'iin - Women, words and territories

A podcast on the xook k'iin from a feminist point of view. (In Spanish and Yucatec Maya)

Versión en español.

The podcast Xook K'iin - Women, words and territories explores women*'s thinking about and their ways of contemplating, interacting and narrating nature in a changing world. Xook k'iin is the ancestral knowledge of reading the winds, the clouds, the voices of the earth. Xook k'iin is the counting of the days used by Maya people to decipher time, the cycles of nature and to obtain better fruits from the cornfield. In this series we will listen to the voice of Maya women who will tell us about their yearnings, struggles and resistances from the family, and their territories in their own words.

The podcast was created within the framework of the exhibition Xook k'iin. Caminar el tiempo (Xook k'iin. Walking with time).

The podcast is in Spanish and Yucatec Maya.

The podcast was conceptualized and produced by Narrativas desde la Mayanidad and la Coordinadora de Mujeres Mayas de Quintana Roo.

You can listen to the podcast on Spotify and YouTube.
