Oscillating between two forms of imagination, the globalized and the very local, Israel's Heterotopia (edited by Omri Ben Yehuda and Dotan HaLevi, Tel Aviv: Gama Press, 2023) aims to avoid an orientalist approach to geopolitical knowledge of ''the Orient.'' Instead, it proposes a view of the Israeli self, consolidated and contested in the encounter and avoidance of its Other, the Palestinian refugee.
