The brothers Dubier and David Jimenez Gironza are Indigenous peasant producers of organic coffee and cocoa in the village of Los Alpes, Municipality of Dagua - Colombia. Dubier and David received their training and qualifications from the master Jairo Restrepo, an expert in organic agriculture. Together they have 12 years of experience in the cultivation and preparation of environmentally friendly fertilizers.
This exchange is aimed at both people with no prior knowledge and those who already have knowledge of agroecology. It is divided into two topics. Firstly, David and Dubier share their experiences and the challenges of growing coffee and cocoa. They also talk about the production and application of organic fertilizers.
The FUNDACIÓN HAGA QUE PASE is legally registered in 2020, but the work was born already in 2016 in the city of Cali as an extension of the musical group HAGA QUE PASE, supporting activities related to community organizing, training or cultural management. Since then, different initiatives have been developed at local, national and international levels. The group supports a project on the use of musical language as a common communication bridge between distant regions, community-based processes of environmentally friendly food production and a project to supply drinking water to the community of Villa Rica, amongst others.
This project is funded by the Research Centre Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA)
