Widerstand ist Liebe – Stories from the Palestine Movement in Germany

Readings by Jara Nassar, Gaëlle Cimen, and Johanna Rothe will offer a glimpse into the recently published anthology Widerstand ist Liebe – Geschichten aus der Palästina-Bewegung in Deutschland, by Letatlin Verlag. Sandra Hetzl will share her translations of Mohamed Al-Zaqzouq’s short story Burning Books in Gaza, as well as poems by Batool Abu Akleen and Asmaa Azaizeh. These readings will be accompanied by discussions about the role of literature in the face of genocide.

Kadir Özdemir, founder of "collecting:dreams," the only post-migrant literature festival in northern Germany, will host the evening.

There will also be ample opportunity for conversation and socializing in the atrium, where books, zines, and lovingly crafted accessories will be available for a donation. Proceeds will benefit people in Gaza and Lebanon. Participating organizations include Letatlin Verlag, Coastal Lines Press, Families for Palestine, Sozialismus von unten, and Pins Against Zionism.
