Eyal Weizman is the director of Forensic Architecture, a research agency that uses satellite imagery and other data to document human rights abuses and state crimes. Since 2023, Forensic Architecture has been working to gather evidence for the genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
In his new book Ungrounding, Weizman explores what he calls the deep cartography of Gaza and the surrounding land – from the tunnels below to the soil, settlements and barriers above, cataloguing in forensic detail the campaigns of violence and displacement that have made the territory unlivable. We are glad to host Weizman for a presentation of Ungrounding and a conversation with scholar Sami Khatib.
