Storytelling is not just a way to understand the world; it is also a means to shape it. Picture books invite their readers to tell and interpret their own stories, and by encouraging reflection and deeper thought, they become an important tool for self-empowerment.
Within this series of workshops, we’ll engage in hands-on, maker-based activities inspired by picture books in Spore’s library, such as collage, ceramics, and more*. Spore's library is a collection of multigenerational books in various languages with a focus on ecological practices, community work and Indigenous knowledges. Run by Marina Witt, the workshops invite you to explore new perspectives and (un)familiar narratives.
