Since 2018, the open mic format Hispano-Poetic Gathering has been inviting participants in Berlin to share their poems and words in a welcoming, non-judgmental space. Through reading and listening, the event fosters poetic exchange, connection, and community.
Participants can share texts drawn from their present experiences. Each gathering centers on a topic, inviting reflection and the sharing of different interpretations. There is also a creative writing game open to all during the event, which aims to create a playful, accessible space where participants can write together and experience poetry as a collective practice.
The topic of this gathering is CONNECTION: What brings us together? Affection? Territories? Languages? Shared wounds? What sustains a bond?
The texts must be original and written in Spanish. They must not exceed 5 minutes in length.
In addition to the open mic, the event will feature poetic duets. Participants will be paired at random beforehand and invited to create a text together, encouraging spontaneous collaboration between different voices and perspectives.
The evening’s goal is to bring people together through poetry, fostering a sense of belonging and shared expression.
To take part in the poetic duets, sign up before October 2nd at pasajerodelmuro@gmail.com an. To just come and listen, no sign-up needed – simply show up.
The Hispano-Poetic Gathering is organized and facilitated by Alicia Morán.
