Hülya Karci has been bringing women together to share stories and revisit memories from different moments in their lives. As part of Times in Common, this ongoing practice is opening up to a wider group, creating a shared space for conversation, memory, and storytelling.
The gatherings begin with whatever people bring with them: a memory that has lingered in the background for years, a story prompted by someone else’s recollection, or an experience that takes on a different meaning when shared with others. Listening is as important as speaking, and stories can move between people, connect, overlap, and change as they are shared.
There is no fixed format. A song, an object, a bowl of soup, or simply being around a table together might set a conversation in motion. The important thing is making time for one another and for the stories that often only emerge when there is room to tell them.
