This one-day workshop offers artists working across disciplines a safe and supportive space to reflect on their wellbeing, develop tools for resilience, and strengthen their creative practice without compromising their mental health.

Through a blend of reflection, group discussion, and practical exercises, participants will:

– Explore the emotional and psychological impact of working with sensitive or painful material.

– Learn trauma-informed wellbeing practices to support their creative process.

– Practice strategies for setting boundaries, managing triggers, and preventing burnout.

– Share experiences within a community of diasporic artists, building solidarity and collective care.

– Take away concrete tools adapted from the role of a Mental Health Coordinator in artistic and film productions.

This workshop is designed for artists, filmmakers, performers, writers, and cultural practitioners in diaspora who wish to sustain their mental and emotional well-being while continuing to create impactful, authentic work.
