What does life beneath our feet sound like?
In our two-day workshop (The first Workshop-day on April 24, will take place at a different Location. More info will follow shortly), we combine soil ecology with sound art. Together with agricultural biologist Dr. Karin Pirhofer, sound designer Boris Jöns, and voice coach Claudia Wiedemer, you will learn about the edaphon—from mice to fungi—and record your own radio play.
What can you expect?
Learn how researchers carry out soil measurements.
Get to know soil organisms interactively and lend them your voice.
Develop an audio play about the interactions between soil organisms and the global climate and your own life.
After the workshop, you will know:
- Several simple soil measurements.
- The most important representatives of soil organisms and their function.
- Interactive, educational methods for raising awareness about soil and its inhabitants.
- AND you will have created an exciting, creative audio play with human soil sounds and voices.
This workshop is for all adults who are interested in the connection between art and science, for people who work in education, and for people who want to explore the soil and its creatures artistically.
