Culture Gallery 2023

There is a lot to discover–to be tasted, to be seen, and to be embodied through participating in the many workshops of the day. We believe that our strength is in sharing our knowledge, and we welcome everyone who is interested to engage, and enjoy with us.
 

A varied program awaits you, including the exhibition My Hair is My Identity by Your Barber in Town, focusing on the hidden signifiers of African hair styles; a dance workshop by Luana Madikera; a Piri-Piri workshop, where we will share the secrets of the hot spice mix. Our Afro-Femi kitchen will take us on a culinary journey to explore manioc (manjok) through various dishes. Finally, we will round up the evening with the Afro-rhythmic sounds of Bantu Riots followed by a DJ set by caesarr.

Roots Table is an Afro-diasporic collective from Berlin. We organize various community events and welcome you to take a seat at the table.
