Based on the publication, A Picture Book Journey, published by Spore Initiative, we will explore picture books from around the world about understanding and caring for each other.
How can we learn to deal with diversity of social positions, without reverting to exclusion? How can we bridge different needs, debate and discuss respectfully without perpetuating discriminatory behavior?
The fact that we humans have different needs and interests, emphasize words differently, speak different languages and enjoy different things is hardly debatable. But so is the fact that we share experiences, desires and thoughts with many people.
This workshop focuses on learning to deal with social diversity while finding common grounds to create empathy and sensitivity.
If you work with children and young people and if you are interested in diverse picture books for group activities, you can register at mariela.n@spore-initiative.org.
The seminar will be led by Joao Albertini and Mariela Nagle. It will be held in German.
