How can scholars demonstrate solidarity with Palestine within and outside of European universities? What strategies can amplify Palestinian and critical Jewish voices against censorship and silencing? What knowledge and visions for the future can Palestinian and Jewish scholars generate together in the spirit of "co-resistance"?
These urgent questions of academic freedom and epistemic justice have been central to the Association of Palestinian and Jewish Academics (PJA)'s mission since its founding in 2024. At this event, PJA members from several European countries will reflect on these questions from their disciplinary and personal perspectives.
In the first part of the evening, Islam Dayeh and Avinoam Stillman will present the PJA's collaboratively written position paper Palestinian–Jewish Solidarity and Co-Resistance in the University. This will be followed by a panel discussion on "Co-Resistance and Solidarity: Within and Without the University" moderated by Laliv Melamed and including Jevgeniy Bluwstein and Nassim R., among other PJA members.
