In this gardening session we will learn about plant reproduction and seed saving before getting into a conversation with Luca Cinquemani and Fabio Aranzulla of Aterraterra collective whose work oscillates between artistic, activist and agricultural practices. In their garden in Sicily they grow special, rare, wild and marginal vegetables. They propagate, save and share seeds. Some of their varieties also grow in the Spore Garden. At the same time, they are tracing the stories of the varieties, their connection to colonization and exploitation. In the face of increasing droughts, they focus on growing drought-resistant varieties and collecting wild plants that can survive without human care. in Palermo, with Aterraterra LAB, they organize programs of discussions, lectures, artistic residencies, workshops and gatherings.
