Behind the Spore house, a learning garden is being created. This garden follows agroecological ideas and practices that evolve from collaborations and dialogues with different Spore partners. The Spore garden is about caring for the diversity of soil life, cultivating companion plants, pollinator-friendly meadows, the hedge as a habitat for birds and insects, seed sharing, preserving old varieties of crops, composting methods, traditional knowledge of medicinal plants, adapting to periods of drought, and the principles of a forest garden.
Besides the ongoing tasks in the garden, such as harvesting and young plants transplanting we will look in more detail into plant-based care for plants including companion planting and using plant extracts as natural remedies against insects.
