In a moment marked by upcoming elections in Colombia and the global rise of the right, we open a space for the Colombian diaspora and allies to come together. This encounter invites us to look back at the long and complex struggle for peace in Colombia – with all its contradictions, hopes, and the voices that continue to fight for it.

We will screen the 2022 documentary Cantos que inundan el río, by Germán Arango, followed by a panel discussion. Our goal is to create a space for collective listening, sharing, and resonance. The evening will conclude with live music by marcELE and Trío Palmera, featuring Colombian and other Central and South American rhythms.

This event offers a moment to meet, to think about resistance, and to imagine how community can be built and sustained across borders.
