There’s a lot more to food than just its nutritional value. It carries culture and memory, and it's one of the oldest reasons people sit down together.
Spend an afternoon in Spore's outdoor kitchen and garden cooking, eating, and swapping recipes. Bring a dish that means something to you and the story that comes with it, or just come and cook alongside people you haven't met yet.
Between the chopping and the eating, we'll take a look at the Planetary Health Diet and how what we eat affects our own health and the planet's. We mean it as a starting point, not a conclusion. What counts as healthy or sustainable food looks different depending on where you grew up, what you can afford, what's sold near you, and how much time your week leaves you. That's what we'd like to talk about.
You don't need to know how to cook. Bring a recipe, a family habit, or an appetite.
The Weltacker Jugendrat (Weltacker Youth Council) organizes the afternoon together with partner organizations. Anyone is welcome who's curious about food, cultural exchange, and questions of social and ecological justice.
