A stack of copies of the same book, titled: *The "We" in the Economy: Valuing Care Work Secures Prosperity and Democracy*.
Aufbau Verlage

This is no coincidence; it’s a matter of policy. Care work is the invisible foundation of our economy, and those who perform it are systematically exploited. In her book The Weconomy, Feline Tecklenburg dispels the notion that people are to blame for their own circumstances.

This book launch is aimed at those who panic at the word "economy" because they think it's all about complicated numbers. We're celebrating the release of a book that demonstrates the economy can only be sustainable if care work is valued more highly. The "we" in "economy" isn't the "we" of corporate board members or finance ministers. It's the "we" of all those who provide care: changing diapers, boiling potatoes, and helping with homework.

Journalist and host Mareice Kaiser will lead the evening's conversation with Feline Tecklenburg and Susanne Brückner, editor at Aufbau Verlag. BuchHafen Berlin will set up a book table at which The Weconomy will be available.
