Join children’s author, Leila Boukarim, as she tells young readers about her new book and the incredible woman who inspired it. Participants will get to listen to a reading of the book, ask their questions, craft with the author, and prepare authentic Levantine food! The afternoon will consist of the following:

Welcome & Storytelling
Introduction followed by a reading from the book. -
Q&A Session
Interactive time for questions and discussion with the author. -
Creative Craft Activity
Children will design and decorate their own food trucks and create personalized menus. -
Food Preparation
Together, we’ll make hummus and baba ghannouj, then set up our soufra (shared table). -
Shared Meal
We’ll eat together and enjoy the dishes we've prepared. -
Social & Book Sales
Time to mingle, browse, and purchase books. -
Wrap-Up
Closing remarks and farewells.
