Internship in Spore Initiatives Communication Team in Berlin Neukölln

The Spore Initiative is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in communication, event management, and outreach within a cultural space.
About Spore Initiative:
Spore Initiative in Neukölln is committed to promoting biocultural diversity and environmental justice through cultural and learning programs. We develop cultural tools and learning materials, such as books or games, workshops, and exhibitions, and work together with people who are committed to protecting land, water, forests, soil and seeds. In these collective processes, we are guided by the knowledges and priorities of our partners. We listen, build relationships, facilitate conversations, and discover common grounds.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the external and internal coordination of communication activities around events, including cultural workshops, film screenings, and exhibitions.
- Handling participant registration process and audience evaluation.
- Check newsletter registration and maintenance of subscription lists.
- Assisting in the organization and logistics of cultural events, including venue setup, participant coordination, and post-event evaluation.
- Review and assist team with online text material, i.e. written summaries of exhibition outcomes, learnings and developed tools.
- Act as a first point of contact for incoming inquiries, including maintenance of Spore’s email and social media accounts.
- Support the production and circulation of print communication materials.
Requirements:
- Fluent in both German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in communication, biocultural diversity, and community engagement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks and responsibilities within a dynamic cultural space.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is encouraged.
The internship is a 20h per week position and will last for minimum six months. The position will be compensated.
