Neukölln is a symbol of cultural diversity. However, it is also affected by rising rents, gentrification, and growing poverty. Political neglect and budget cuts to social services and education further exacerbate the situation. This is evident in dilapidated schools and trash-littered streets. At the same time, many residents report experiencing racism and exclusion.
We address these and many other issues at our monthly neighborhood meetings. The format alternates between informational sessions and open discussion groups. Together, we discuss current neighborhood developments, share experiences, talk about challenges, and develop ideas for future projects and collective action. These meetings provide an opportunity to learn from one another, build networks, and collaborate to find solutions to the neighborhood's challenges.
That’s why we cordially invite you to our next meeting. Participation is free and open to anyone living in Neukölln who wants to work toward building a community based on solidarity, diversity, and justice, regardless of race, religion, or gender.
