What gives us hope in times of increasing right-wing, racist and anti-feminist violence? What can and must feminist resistance look like? As part of the Anti-Colonial Month, we - Kali Feminists - are organizing a short film screening followed by a discussion on the topic of Feminist Hope and Resistance. With increasingly right-wing, racist and anti-feminist tendencies in society as well as increasing police violence and the defunding of feminist structures, we need feminist hope and resistance right now. The films show anti-colonial struggles from Western Sahara, Tunisia and Spain. In the following conversation, we want to discuss how we can and are creating structures that are both resistant and hopeful.

Kali Feminists is an organized group of FLINTA* people in Berlin who are committed to internationalist and feminist fights and concerns. The letters in our name stand (for the German words) K for collective, A for anti-capitalist, L for passionate and I for internationalist. We live our activism through feminist networking (for example in the “Netztwerk gegen Feminizide”), organizing demos (such as IQPride), through joint actions such as postering, social media work (Insta: @kalifeminists) and the joint organization of events.
The films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles, the discussion will be held in English.
