Faced with the climate emergency that has challenged the very idea of the future, we propose the aesthetic exercise of imagining creative alternatives "to postpone the end of the world" (Ailton Krenak).
The raw material for this workshop will be waste: material that has been accumulated in proportions and in conditions that threaten life on the planet. Working with discarded objects, we will develop aesthetic processes that, on the one hand, stimulate reflection on the discarding of things, life and human relationships. On the other hand, they will inspire us to act in a way that is committed to the concept of good living. The act of transforming waste into artistic productions will be a symbolic exercise in self-transformation.
We will work with the repertoire of exercises, games and original techniques that make up the book "TEATRO DE LAS OPRIMIDAS: feminist aesthetics for political poetics", which will be launched in its English version on the occasion of the workshop.
The workshop will be facilitated by Bárbara Santos with the assistance of João Eduardo Albertini.
