In this performance, we will explore water – one of the most important elements of life – in various forms: clouds as "liquid air" and devices known as "cloud catchers" that serve to make clouds rain. Water pipes, found in nature and in homes, gardens, villages, or cities, are used to direct or distribute water from one place to another. Sponges, both as living organisms and as plastic, can absorb and store water. And our bodies, which are also a bit like clouds, pipes, and sponges, take in, release, collect, and transport water – without water, nothing would function...
We explore how water allows us to observe, paint, craft, film, move, tell stories, and listen. We will start with our bodies, feeling where we can perceive water within them or imagining it. How do bodily fluids move when we move? And how do we move when we let ourselves be inspired by water in nature (… like a whirlpool, like a wave, like a still pond, etc.)? How do we move together, in pairs, threes, or as a group, when we imagine we are connected by water? And aren’t we really?
How much water is in the air today ("humidity")? Do you see clouds? When did it last rain? Which stories do you know that are about water? What experiences have you had with water? What would you like to do with water and in water in the future?
