What future do you envision when you think of the year 2050?
Which inner images carry you?

In this workshop, these questions become physically experienced. Dance becomes a tool for imagining the future, for collective exploration, and for transformation. It is about releasing energy through movement, developing new perspectives, and feeling together what is possible.

The format builds on Hillebrand’s dance-theater piece 2050 – Unsere Utopien, which premiered in 2024 at Radialsystem Berlin. In the performance, he, together with dancers, musicians, and storytellers, envisions a future where equality, mindfulness, and connectedness are taken for granted. Between dance, language, and music, a space emerges that asks: How can we create a fairer world? What might a global community look like that prioritizes the rights of all over the privileges of a few?

The workshop continues this reflection. Through improvisation, choreographic experiments, and collective storytelling, participants co-create a shared movement narrative, which is presented at the open conclusion. The focus is not on technique, but on perception, encounter, and collectively exploring possibilities.

Wohltuende Zukunft als körperliche Erfahrung opens a space for reflection, movement, and shared dreaming. BIPoCs and Jewish participants are especially invited to bring their perspectives, stories, and bodily experiences. The workshop is conceived as a space of mindfulness, exchange, and mutual empowerment.

It is open to anyone who wants to feel, think about, and move the future. No prior experience is required.

The workshop takes place in the context of an immersive installation that makes tangible what it means to feel safe and comfortable—with contributions from people who experience racism and/or antisemitism. Here, movement becomes a tool for dialogue, self-empowerment, and collective encounter.

Snacks and water will be provided.
