About Spore Initiative:

Spore Initiative in Neukölln is committed to promoting biocultural diversity and environmental justice through cultural and learning programs. We develop cultural tools and learning materials, such as books or games, workshops, and exhibitions, and work together with people who are committed to protecting land, water, forests, soil and seeds. In these collective processes, we are guided by the knowledges and priorities of our partners. We listen, build relationships, facilitate conversations, and discover common grounds.



  • Editing and proofreading texts in German and English
  • Support writing texts in German and English
  • Stylistically proficient writing of various texts in German and English (press releases, newsletters, website, and social media)
  • Taking on social media management tasks - working with the team to develop, plan and create stories and content for social media
  • Support in the coordination of event related communication activities




  • Excellent fluency in written and spoken German and English
  • Longstanding experience in text editing and proofreading in German and English
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and experience in social media management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex topics clearly and comprehensibly (knowledge around easy/accessible language)
  • Ability to work with a team and the ability to work independently and take on responsibility
  • Interest in the topics of environmental justice and biocultural diversity



The position is a freelance position and involves approximately 20 hours per week. The exact working hours can be arranged flexibly. Compensation is based on an hourly fee.
